Books that shaped me

Longform reading is a lost art in the age of social media where people want to consume byte sized information. With this section, I am attempting to inform people that good part of my growth has come from 2 things -

(1) Reading long form content and (2) Reading across genre content, that is not necessarily related to my work, but eventually ends up aiding me in my work

Note: This is not exhaustive list nor I endorse all the views/contents in all the books mentioned here.

Why is history important?

You only know where you are going if you know where you are at present and where you have come from. The present is a derivative of our past and our future is derived from our present. We were taught history where we had to memorise year/date of what happened which left me unsatisfied.

Ideal way of how history should be taught would be understanding why a certain event happened? What led to that event? Ramifications of it? Lessons? Here I list some history books that have helped me learn entire context, background of some historical events of my interest.

You are either Atheist or Theist, but have you ever wondered what makes billions of people believe in something or not believe in something?

Theology is beautiful in its own way as it makes you respect your roots, culture and also helps you respect others roots and culture. As a devout Hindu, its my personal quest to understand the deeper meaning of Dharma. Bhishma Pitamaah in the Mahabharat said  "धर्मस्य गहना गति" (the dynamics of dharma is deep). Here I list books that helped me in my Quest for my Dharma.

Artha – signifies the "means of life", activities and resources that enables one to be in a state one wants to be in. Artha incorporates wealth, career, activity to make a living, financial security and economic prosperity. The proper pursuit of artha is considered an important aim of human life in Hinduism.

Here I list some books on Business & Finance (Artha) that I have immensely benefitted from

Here I list some books that do not fall in any of the above classifications, but have immensely helped me and I have learnt a lot from them. This list includes books from Astrology, Science, Technology, Mental Health but not limited to these genres.
